Best Sushi Delivery In New York City

mandy ansari girl and the your guide to the best sushi in nyc, sushi covid delivery

We’ve all changed a lot since quarantine and that includes our priorities, too. At the top of our priority list (in line with staying healthy and stopping the spread, duh) was to figure out where we could get our sushi fix (delivered, pretty please) in the city. Over the last year we have had ample time to bring together only the finest of recommendations to all who wonder. And if you add some extra sake to cart, remember this is a no judgement zone. Live your life. And never eat bad sushi. Let’s get going.

Juku

Since the omakase culture is highly social—from interacting with the chef at the counter to enjoying a bottle of sake with friends—the Juku team was concerned with how business would fare in the changing times. “Fortunately, many of our loyal customers have helped support the business through delivery sales,” shared owner Lucas Cohen. Stunning presentations and the highest-quality ingredients are showcased in sushi sets, maki rolls, izakaya dinners and bento box samplers for two—available for takeout and delivery.

Sushi by M

This intimate, no-frills East Village sushi parlor focuses on unique flavor profiles and a regularly-changing, one hour omakase showcasing the best fish available. Thanks to Sushi by M’s loyal following, local pickup has become a well-received option in the neighborhood. Selections include excellent nigiri, donburi rice bowls, seasonal omakase and specialties like snow crab uni rice and chef M’s original “cheeseburger”—a decadent creation consisting of a Japanese cheesecake with toro topped with uni and caviar.

Kazu Nori

Dubbed the original Hand Roll Bar, Kazu Nori sushi is a food-centric restaurant dedicated solely to Nozawa’s famous hand rolls. KazuNori is truly a one-of-a-kind restaurant, and eating one of their just-made hand rolls, with its crispy nori, warm rice, and delectable ingredients, will redefine what you think about sushi.

Sugarfish

Sugarfish is one of the most popular and most well-loved sushi spots in the city. Sugarfish is a relatively affordable spot in Flatiron with an array of amazing, neatly constructed sushi boxes ready to arrive on your apartment doorstep thanks to your local delivery heroes. If you’re looking for a spot with high-quality sushi that is mildly less delicate, but still incredibly delicious, you’ll love Sugarfish (if you haven’t already tried it).

Domodomo

Domodomo is an amazing sushi handroll restaurant in the Greenwich Village / SoHo area - a place you’ll want to add to your sushi rotation ASAP. They’re known for their amazing sushi and prices that are on par for the quality and experience that Domodomo seamlessly delivers (no pun intended). Their most loved rolls are the blue crab handroll, the negi toro handoll, and the salmon handroll. Bon appetite!

Sushi Dojo

Sushi Dojo is dubbed one of the coolest and most fun places to grab some sushi in the city, so when you feel comfortable enough to indoor dine again, add them to the top of your list. The vibes in this place are unmatched and the sushi is immaculate. The playlist is also a vibe if you like throwbacks. What more could you ask for? Oh, you want it on your doorstep? Lucky for you, they deliver.

Bondi Sushi

Bondi Sushi is a NoMad staple and is known for its amazing option where you can build your own combo box with four different rolls for $23 which is a really wonderful deal. Bondi Sushi is a place you’ll love because you can customize your entire experience down to the very nitty-gritty to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want and nothing less.

Sushi Lab

Sushi Lab is really fun and innovative place in midtown with killer omakase options starting at only $28 and karaage that will have you wanting to add Sushi Lab to your regular delivery lineup. Sushi Lab offers very flavorful and unique sushi that really sets it apart from other sushi in the city.

Nakaji

Nakaji has gotten rave reviews pre-COVID, but during COVID they have received numerous amazing reviews of customers commenting on the quality and thoughtfulness this restaurant and staff have put into ensuring you have the best possible experience with delivery. If you order from Nakaji (which you should, for sure) make sure to try the eel, toro and the mackerel. Enjoy!

Wasan

Wasan is a phenomenal establishment in Brooklyn, serving an array of authentic Japanese foods. People love their fresh sushi, bento boxes, uni specials, bento boxes, and ramen. Wasan puts a lot of pride into bringing an authentic Japanese experience to Brooklyn and we are so glad they do. They also do a lot of lovely work in the community, like gathering groups to do neighborhood street cleaning and serving fresh bento boxes to all volunteers.
