Trader Joe's Beauty & Wellness Finds to Heal From Winter

This winter was rough. Not only did we officially enter a year into the global COVID-19 pandemic but the entire country suffered brutal winter storms - even Texas!

Spring is coming but our wellness needs recuperating.

Luckily, I’ve found a few things at Trader Joe’s that have helped make my life a little bit easier and I hope they help you too.

Rose Oil Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Cream

I’m skeptical of hand crams because they always make my hands way too greasy, which in turn makes my hair greasy because I’m pushing it out of my face a hundred times a day. But in a desperate move during my latest Trader Joe’s run, I picked up their Rose Oil Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Cream and I have to say,

And I am so glad I did it. It heals my dry winter hands but doesn’t make my palm greasier for hours after (I do a quick wipe of my palms on my pants and I’m fine). The smell is divine; as if rose was a juicy candy flavor.

Jojoba Oil

As I sit here writing this right now, Trader Joe’s Jojoba Oil is sitting on my face and in my hair. That’s because this bottle of yellow magic can be used in so many different ways.

I use it as the first step in my double cleanse, it’s at removing makeup and the first layer of the day’s grime from my face while also moisturizing it.

I also use it as a hair mask. Ever since I’ve been applying this to the bottom half of my hair for a few hours before I wash my hair, I’ve had the best hair days of my life. Sadly, they are wasted in this #pandemiclife.

Dry Shampoo

The latest in Trader Joe’s Beauty & Wellness line is their dry shampoo, so obviously I had to try it out. I am very impressed.

First, it’s not like every other dry shampoo I’ve used; it’s not an aerosol can so it’s good for the earth! The dry shampoo comes from a plastic bottle that pumps out a powder you apply to your roots. After you let it sit for a few seconds, to absorb the oils, you rub it in.

This works as well as the $25 bottles of dry shampoo I’ve used but I love its small size (a 1.75-ounce bottle that goes $4.99) so when this pandemic is over and we’re running all over the place again, I can put one in my apartment, office, car, and throw one in each of my bags.

Hyaluronic Body Gel Cream

If you’ve shopped for skincare in the last few years, you’ve undoubtedly come across the word “hyaluronic acid”. That’s because it’s a powerful agent in skincare. Hyaluronic acid is something our body produces naturally in order to lock in the already existing moisture. But as we age, we need more than our bodies are giving.

Trader Joe’s already has a wonderful hyaluronic acid serum for the face but now they have their Hydrating Hyaluronic Body Gel so that you can lock in moisture all over your body.

It’s a “gel-cream” so it goes on light but feels light and moisturizing. And bonus: it’s scentless. For $6.99, this feels like a much more expensive bottle of lotion.
